Tile & Error
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026
This is a draft for operator review. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by counsel.
1. Who we are
Tile & Error (“the Service”) is operated by Good For Nothing Productions LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). The Service is a word-game trainer available at tile-and-error.goodfornothing.lol.
Questions about this policy: hello@goodfornothing.lol.
2. What this policy covers
This policy describes what personal and gameplay-related information we process when you create an account and use Tile & Error, how we use it, who helps us process it, and the choices available to you (including account deletion).
3. Information we process
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process:
- Account and authentication data. Email address; credentials you set for email/password sign-in; and, if you choose Google sign-in, identifiers and profile details provided by Google OAuth (such as email and display name).
- Profile preferences. Display name, timezone, theme, type-scale preference, and similar settings you configure in the Service.
- Gameplay and history data. Run configuration (for example tier and duration), submissions (words you enter and whether they are accepted), timing and anti-cheat signals used to score a run fairly, coverage and missed-word results, and aggregates used for history and stats.
- Word reports. Lexicon dispute reports you submit about a word’s validity, along with related context needed to investigate them.
- Session / realtime data. During an active run, ephemeral session state may be held in a Cloudflare Durable Object over a WebSocket connection (clock, scoring, and related run state). That session state is for operating the run and is not a long-term substitute for your saved history in our database.
- Technical logs. Standard server and infrastructure logs (for example request metadata, error diagnostics) generated while hosting and securing the Service.
We do not sell personal information. v1 of the Service does not include payments, advertising, or first-party analytics SDKs.
4. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- create and secure accounts, and keep you signed in;
- run gameplay sessions, score runs, and show results, history, and stats;
- honor your profile and accessibility preferences (theme, type scale, and similar);
- investigate word reports and improve lexicon handling where appropriate;
- maintain, debug, and protect the Service against abuse or technical failure;
- respond to your requests (including account deletion) and communicate about the Service.
5. Processors and third parties
We rely on service providers to operate Tile & Error:
- Supabase — authentication and Postgres database storage for accounts, profiles, runs, submissions, and reports.
- Cloudflare — hosting (Cloudflare Pages) and gameplay session infrastructure (Durable Objects / Worker over WebSocket).
- Google — optional OAuth sign-in; and, where fonts are loaded from Google’s font services, delivery of those font files to your browser.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies, limited to what is needed to provide their services to us.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies, local storage, or similar browser storage as needed for authentication sessions and client preferences (for example theme). We do not use third-party advertising cookies in v1.
7. Retention and account deletion
We retain account, profile, and gameplay records for as long as your account remains active and as needed to operate the Service. You may request deletion of your account. When deletion is completed, we remove associated runs, submissions, reports, and profile data from our primary systems, subject to short-lived backups, security logs, or legal retention obligations that may apply.
To request deletion, use the account controls in the Service when available, or email hello@goodfornothing.lol.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. International processing
We and our processors may process information in the United States and other countries where those providers operate. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, when changes are material, take additional steps we consider reasonable (for example a notice in the Service or an email to the address on your account). Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
